HWDC Langley

Hello guys,

I was just wondering if someone could please help me out with a query. I ordered 3 things from Japan, which im pretty sure is packaged. The only problem is the track and trace tells me that it stopped at HWDC Langley since Friday 16th March 2012.

Mar 14 - 19:50 Arrival at outward office of exchange TOKYO INTERNATIONAL Branch Tokyo metropolis

It's been nearly 4 days, does anyone know what normally happens? Or should i ask Royal Mail via their twitter?

It's the Bermuda Triangle of Royal Mail,chances are it's moved on though.
Sometimes it is not scanned in as delivered as well,being a foreign one.

Hmm interesting, I barely managed to get in touch with royal mail's twitter lol but then it was closing time. Does it usually take ages to dispatch the package because I've seen people who've said they waited for at least a month.

Surely if there's some import charge they should send me a letter at least...

Things seem to go AWOL at Langley and then appear at your house a couple of weeks later without the tracking system moving along.

Only mail from a limited list of countries gets tracked once it enters the UK (AFAIK just ones that RM has agreements with), everything from countries not on that list just gets treated as a recorded deleivery and will get it's next scan when it's delivered.

lol 14 days later and I'm still here waiting, the worst ones I've seen in forums is people claiming to have waited over a month and still not receive their parcel.

I'm not surprised, unfortunately Hope it turns up soon. It would be nice if someone from Langley registered on here and could tell us what happens in the HWDC Triangle!

That's correct. Only mail from 12 countries is treated as Special Delivery once it arrives in UK, even if it was posted as Special Delivery/Registered mail in the originating country.
I can't remember them all but the 12 includes Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, France, and China (I think).

There does seem to be ongoing problems at HWDC with mail being diverted to other MCs because they can't cope.

What happens and it affects the tracking obviously is,and it usually the CN ones,is that say we get say 6 in the office,3 will be in the reg bag,and the other 3 in normal packets.
Rule of thumb 'in my DO' is,if it comes in the reg bag it's reg,if we point out the packet bag ones they are ignored and go as normal packets.....which usually mean as they are foreign they don't get signed for.

1. I am paid to.
2. Someone has paid for it.
3. People get sacked/disciplined for it.

Yep,and while some of our colleagues will have a slight conscience and do some of the recordeds,a foreign one? No chance.
