Requested to attend Accident Investigation post AOD.

Had a work slip/trip, AOD, injured leg. Seen my GP/Hospital Xray etc. Soft tissue damage only. But unable to Weight Bare properly, limping etc.
Completed ERICA etc and other internal forms WITH Management, as requested. They have now got more requests/demands...
Been requested by Management : 1. To ask GP to complete RM form to get me back to work ASAP, 2 hrs per day, in less than 4 days.
: 2. To attend Accident Investigation, Monday. Been told I'll be "collected from home.

Obviously, this unwanted RM Management "pressure" is unwanted during my recovery period, whilst being in pain.

So, I'm currently considering their proposals, as ridiculous as they seem to me.
But...I strongly feel Im being pushed into a corner to re-start work at their "unreasonable" request.

Whats my best course of action? Thanks.

Makes you wonder how they treat People, as thats what we are, not just STAFF.

Lets call it REACTIONARY STRESS as it only comes on when work contact you

If you are still having problems with your leg when you go and get a sick note from the doctor for harrassment/stress also ask for an MRI appointment. Soft tissue injuries cannot be seen with xrays and you may have more damage than you realise, ie torn meniscus. I can assure you if you don't get it checked out now it will come and bite you on the arse months/years down the line.

ask your dom where in the attendance procedure is this written
the only people who are entitled to get you back to work are ATOS in conjunction with medical reports

you do not have to attend what has been known as staturday surgeries, if you have been signed off and you cannot get into work due to pain, swelling etc then the request by the DOM IS UNREASONABLE.

the line manager can do the erica report and fill in the relevant facts and complete later with your attendance. it must be done within 24 hours of the accident or 48 on weekends

i repeat, if you are unable to attend on monday due to pain etc, respectfully decline and request a preliminary date say in seven days.

it is standard policy now to do an accident investigation as royal mail is being slaughtered by the HSE over its accident rate (RIDDOR)

YOURSELF, A LINE MANAGER AND THE H&S REP WOULD DO THE INVESTIGATION

if you have no H&S REP then get one from another office or get the area safety rep involved.

royal mail have a current policy of proportioning blame on the postman by calling them incidents, if this is mentioned update your thread as i have just recently delt with this line of crap from managers

The best course of action would be to get back to work as soon as is possible, this is a reasonable request from RM lets not forget they do pay your wages, working is the best therapy anyone can ask for.

Thanks all, but my German/Dutch/Flemish a bit rusty!

Think its an UNREASONABLE request and will defer their offer etc.

Next theyll be puttin D2D in bulk thro me door to deliver locally, methinks.

Rep thort it wasnt too unreasonable and I may attend, but he hasnt seen my ankle/injury.

Cant get my shoe on with all the support/bandages. Snow ere at the mo, so my tootsies wud get frostbite.

Area being investigated for Fellow Workers to avoid further problems, Yes!
Full and detailed report supplied, as Ex Appointed Person Health and Safety Officer, YES...
Taken Legal Advice from friend who is Solicitors, Very Yes!!!
His recommendations, Unreasonable heavy-handed RM Tactic, going against GP/Medical advice.
Will he take the case on, YES.
Does he think I'll win, Yes, hes NEVER lost a case in 27yrs.
