2nd Class mail CAN arrive the next day.. proof!

I'd heard on the forum that it was pretty much impossible for something sent by 2nd class post to arrive the next day.

However, TWO 2nd class large letter items (both the same - free samples ) which were sent to me from Rotherham yesterday (at around 10am), arrived in the post today!!

Have I just broken the Royal Mail? haha.

It was a PPI item, which clearly displayed the '2', but do you think it was handled incorrectly at the Mail Centre, and forwarded with the 1st stuff?
Or, I also notice that Rotherham is only 20 mins drive from Doncaster Mail Centre (my local MC and the local MC of Rotherham), so was that the cause?

Can anyone shed some light on how this happened?

No, I sent Christmas cards second class that arrived the next day Admittedly they only went through 1 Mail Centre, but it was still delivered 40 miles away.

Oh, I just had the thought in my mind that there was no chance that 2nd class mail could arrive the next day.
So it seems that if something is sent before lunch hitting the first collection, and only goes through one MC, there's a chance it'll arrive the next day..

Happens quite often,
- quiet time, everything cleared,
- run up to Christmas, stamped mail not segregated,
- local mail handed in at Post Office with an SPDO,
- stamped mail with the 36p made up of more than one stamp so automatically sorted as first class,
- etc. etc.

Shh, someone at the daily mail might hear and complain about the great first class stamp 'rip-off'

In 2012 it is pointless having a two class system
