New Starter

Hi just been offered 3 month contract for postman with driving in Hythe Southampton with induction and start date in 2 weeks.
Reading through the forms It seems that I am not entitled to order the uniform because my contract does not exceed 13 weeks.
Can anybody clarify the situation for me regarding this or does the manager just give me a high viz.

Its standard practice not to issue uniform for a certain period of time for new starters - due mainly to the fact that quite a few jack it in as its not the easy job most seem to expect. OK it is an easy job mental wise, but it is very physical and most are not prepared.

When you start they SHOULD give you a High Viz vest, I would also ask for a Waterproof Jacket if the forecast is bad, but that is all your likely to get for a few weeks at least.

hi, i have gone for a perminant possition within royal mail as a postman just waiting for the checks to go through, would i get the uniform straight away or is it the same wait as all the rest of the new comers?
