Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
looks like the poor bloody infantry will continue to be forgotten, and the full time release men/woman, will stay on the gravy train.

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
Well perhaps we should be asking if they reached an agreement that DID serve its purpose what would they do with all the free time they'd have? You must assume then that chattering is the prime agenda............agreement becomes a very distant second, at least judging from the May 2011 LTB extract because they are still talking about the same things over and over again.

The fudge is long past its sell-by date. Tinkering with the same old recipe is not going to ignite the spark that members need to see from the CWU leadership.

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
surely the main points are.
no private cars on delivery.
posties starting on time, taking breaks and finishing on time
no bullying
no "local agreements" which ignore our national agreements
this should be implemented now
there is no negoiating with use of cars make it illegal

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
The CWU should have NEVER agreed on this 2 in van bollocks - the worse thing to happen for delivery staff and no one will benefit from it, not even RM.
I have absolutely NO faith in this union whatsoever, they have negoatiated away our T&C's for years now and we are now in a worse position than ever before.
We have lost:
1. the overtime rate except if you work 40hrs or more and for only 10hrs then you drop back to the standard rate
2. saturday premium payment
3. driving allowence
4. phg payment
5. d2d payment
6. final salary pension
7. 2nd delivery
8. job and off due to collapsing/lapsing of hours and duties
etc, etc the list is endless and this is what the CWU is doing for its members - FACK OFF!!!

im not telepathic ,cant see into the future , etc etc
but i do know what the outcome of union meeting on the 24th will be
due to progress with rm on transformation plans and the need for completion of revisions we have agreed to put our deadline of 24th jan back to enable further talks with rm to take place and to enable a new relationship of trust between cwu rm and its emplotees
do you think this is far off

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
i am a rep and think after this ltb i'm gonna thow in the towel and let a better man have a go all the time no support from hq and back tracking on everything to avoid confrontation or (removal of full time release for those who get it) :dcfo
makes me wonder who the real enemy is f/all has improved in any office i know within 50 miles for the cwu to have a reason to jump back in bed with r/m
shame on billy shame on dave you had massive support last time you called us out only to sh*t on d/o's unfortunatly i dont think you will ever have that support ever again

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
Lets see what tomorrow bringsIt was agreed that separate from our talks with Royal Mail, there is now a need for the Union to be crystal clear to our Representatives and members on the key principles and benefits that we expect to be part of every local revision going forward. This is in response to concerns that in some locations the agreement is either being misrepresented or watered down. The Executive will meet on the 24th January to confirm these key principles and they will then be communicated throughout the Union and into every workplace.]

Re: UPDATE ON NATIONAL TALKS
i don't know we seem to be getting nowhere the union atthe highest level are gutless and are doing the membership no favours, Royal Mail now are being arrogant and feel as if they can ignore the agreement and expect us to adhere to it .... i am starting to get pissed off big time and this is what Royal MAil want, they want to humilate us ... i think it is time for all the offices to ballot for industrial action individually as i don't want hayes/ward and the PEC to stab us in the back like they did in 2007 and 2009 ... i can't believe their is a office in the country that doesn't have issues with Royal Mail
