CV skills, role etc

Hi all, I was a christmas casual, finished last week (and still waiting for payment lol), just wondering if anyone knows how to describe the job role and skills to put on cv..make it sound a bit impressive, like I was doing something important..

I've been putting down;

Royal Mail Nov 2011 - Dec 2011
Mail Sorter
Duties included sorting out mail and packages to correct postcodes, changing cages and loading them into the correct bay. I was also responsible for training new staff.

but I'm due to completely redo my CV! Hope this helps though :)

For starters I would class it as Voluntary work!!

I think it would be a good idea to add that some of the packages were valuable to give the idea you are trustworthy and used to dealing with high value objects.

Thanks for your reply. That sounds good, but should leave out the training new staff bit..though I did tell a few new guys what to do...

lol at the voluntary work, probably got more chance with that

I've been putting down,

Mail sorter
Manually sorting letters into frames,
Sorting packages into yorks for various locations
Team work and communications skills
Sorting letters and packages into despatch lanes
Showing initive and helping others.

my two penneth

from the royal mail site

In the mail processing centres, the role involves:

Sorting items by hand into compartments on a sorting frame
Bagging and labelling mail for its destination
Moving mail around between conveyor belts, loading docks and trolleys
Moving mailbags from cages, sorting mailbags and bundles of mail into cages
Loading and unloading wheeled containers from vehicles to the dispatch areas

I'd say choose the best ideas from the individual posts!!
