Angard reducing Sunday overtime pay retrospectively

Hi all,

I have been trying to reconcile my pay when I noticed that the pay rate for Sunday has gone down from £7.58 when I worked there to £6.58 when you now log in to your Royal Mail application.

Has anybody noticed this and are Angard trying to rip us off for Sunday overtime we did?

This is what it now says (wished I'd kept the original as proof)

About the job

The Christmas period is naturally a very busy time of year for Royal Mail.
To help us handle the increased volumes of mail we require casual workers to sort mail in our mail centres, and some to deliver the mail to addresses throughout the UK.

These are important tasks in ensuring all those Christmas cards and presents get delivered to the right address!

In the mail processing centres, the role involves:
•Sorting items by hand into compartments on a sorting frame
•Bagging and labelling mail for its destination
•Moving mail around between conveyor belts, loading docks and trolleys
•Moving mailbags from cages, sorting mailbags and bundles of mail into cages
•Loading and unloading wheeled containers from vehicles to the dispatch areas

We also need some people to deliver the mail to addresses in the UK, you will have the choice during your application to express a preference of processing, delivery or both.


Pay Rates

Age 16 - 17
£3.68

Age 18 - 20
£4.98

Age 21 +
£6.08

Weekday night supplement of 50p extra per hour 22:00 - 6:00

Sunday Supplement 50p extra per hour 06:00 - 22:00

£1.00 extra per hour 22:00 - 6:00

That is the standard pay rates they give their long term casuals not Christmas casuals - looks like they maybe trying to back track on what was offered at Christmas to the Christmas casuals. Did you keep a screen shot of it or print it when it had the Christmas rates?

Checked my emails and looked through my documentation and cant see the rates.

It was on my summary screen that it was £1.50 per hour more on Sundays between 0600-2000. Wish I'd copied it now!

Just logged in to check mine and it still has the Christmas rates. Do not go to summary screen go to Last Application:' and click the link next to it - should say something like 'Christmas Casual - (Your) Mail Centre' move down the screen and the pay rates should be there.

Just checked and it says Sunday supplement 50p extra per hour. Unfortunately i dont have proof of the higher rate

Just checked mine & it's still there. Not that I worked Sundays with this pay fiasco. As discussed before, there seems to be 3 tiers of pay rates. TR is in the middle tier.
