i like to think the union is doing its best to get the membership something regarding colleague shares. unfortunatley in the world we live in now managers will renage on agreements and deals unions like to think are set in stone. and things sure aint gonna change any time soon.

The same will happen as always happens. We should have £1000+, we currently have £0 and RM will come up with a final figure of around £200 and we'll all be grateful just to get anything at all.

...with the union claiming victory i suppose.
To be honest i wouldn't be surprised if the money will be tied up in some part of the new business plan with a few more hoops for us to jump through.
I think the union would like it in basic pay...i think they have again misread the membership.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

the only problem with that would be the amount of peeps that are leaving RM and still retaining their phantom shares.
ah well roll on june 2012 and see what the final payment brings :left:

Strange that with 160,000 or so RM employees, and lets say half are in the union. 80,000 paying subs each week at say £2 is £160,000 a week, x 52 is over £8 million a year and over the past 5 years around £40 million.

So can someone explain where all this money actually goes and of what benefit has most of us really had. The area reps and union top brass do a lot of talking but we have lost out with little action seen or done or acheived for union members in recent years.

Meanwhile who has pocketed all this £8 million or so subs each year.... it seems a massive amount paid for little return.

Don`t tell we are another victim of Rip Off UK by our own union.

I couldnt of put it better myself, thats the reason im not in the union, came out 2 years ago and saved a fortune, anybody else who pays their subs you may as well give them to me,il set up a direct debit and pay them straight to me,there shall be no comparison between me and the union as i will also lie to you and do nothing for you or try to do anything that makes your working life better :chuckle

On a serious note,i REFUSE to rejoin the union until big fat Billy Hayes and greedy Dave Ward have relinquished their posts.

Right, well that will be never then, can you seriously see that happening. Billy Hayes retires, Dave Ward takes over, the next in line takes Wards job et sequentia, more of the same for years to come.................................

Doesn't the CWU put money up for the Labour party to run it's election campaigns? That's where I thought it went, at least the small change after the beer n pies (now served previously hot).
