Thanks for highlighting that. There's a lot of talk currently about EU treaty changes and the Govt claiming they'll use the opportunity to repatriate certain powers. If that were the case, I'm expecting that to include some of the European employee protections that currently are in our favour.

It is so sad that the trade union movement has become a shadow of it`s former self. The TUC have a confrence once a year for a self pat on the back and jolly annual get together....then appear to disappear into the unknown as far as anything is heard from them on the main media formats of news....untill the next conference.

Meanwhile workers rights and benefits seem less important than motivated strive for financial greed of increased profits by some companies, which often goes against the moral fibre of our society.

Collectively the trade union movement has at their disposal, the power to achieve unknown changes or pressure for many workers that are getting a poor deal in their working life. But as a capitalist society moral and fairness issues often look in being second to bigger financial gains.
