SECURITY CHECKS PASSED...But still no word!

Night shifts for me last year in Belfast was 11pm - 7am. Sunday to Friday 6 nights a week.

You do not come in for night shifts on a Saturday night.

The only nights you come in for night shifts is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

When work ends at 6am or 7am in the the morning your day will end on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Ah thanks Fergus, that's good to know, I just hope thats the same for me! Is there any extra night allowance pay (i'm 18) as I read its only £5.50 for the night shift which seems pretty low for the hours??

All I know is you get more hours work when the sorting the xmas mail gets busier.

You will be told to come in few hours earlier and still finish at your normal time of 6am or 7am.

I was given provisional start date 27/11 10pm start, tried Thursday and Friday to get through on the phone if it wasn't engaged it just rang someone picked it up and hung up lost count how many times this happened.

A bit worried just incase they didnt send the e-mail which happened with the interview stage got to the place and was turned away and told I needed photos and other stuff and to make another appointment which I couldnt online as it wouldnt allow me so phoned 01604 629381 had no trouble then getting through and the man said it showed the 1st e-mail that I should had got wasn't sent, so he made another appointment for me. So went , got offered nights which I wanted and told 3 weeks and I would hear, still waiting.

Will try to phone again and hope I can keep my cool with them :(

Anyone from Leicester got a reply? I have passed the security checks but have had no contact from Asgard since my interview on the 17th October. Provisional start date is the 5th December and I'm getting a bit worried. I'm going to give them a call today but fearing I've left it a little too late and should of rang them weeks ago!

I doubt you have-they are utterly disorganized . Most places seem to be starting a week later than their provisional date and notification emails/texts are going out AFTER the original start date given.

Just checked my status: Processing Security Checks

Somebody needs to check the spelling on the RM website. Unsuccessful is not spelled unsucessful. There is another spelling error but I can't just spot it at the moment. Mind you it's something to do while I wait for my email to tell me I have been successful even if they do spell it wrong.

Had my interview , security checks passed . Provessinal offer starts on 7/12. I rang them today as I haven't heard anythink, they said they will email me with start date like three days before if im sucessful .

Any one else tried calling them , what have they said to you ?

Hi Laura, I'm trying to ring them now but no one is picking up the phone. What number did you use?

Edit: Rang the 01604 numbers and they are either engaged or just ring out. Then tried the 0845 number and it's just an automated message saying "due to sheer number of calls, we cannot take calls", then hangs up.

Going to try emailing them now as a mate of mine who applied and got interviewed at the same time as me, emailed them and has got a confirmation email back. Wish me luck!

Wow managed to get through after 3 trys got told they have 20 people going through the list in the order of the date we went for the interview, was told to just wait for the e-mail..........my start date was Sunday 26th.

Wow managed to get through after 3 trys got told they have 20 people going through the list in the order of the date we went for the interview, was told to just wait for the e-mail..........my start date was Sunday 26th.

How useless to tell you that after your start date! I've just contacted the mail centre direct to have it confirmed i'm not on their list. He said to me he was given lists of new starters 48hrs prior to each start date. So I'd assume that would be roughly when we'd receive an email/text. (If at all)

Yeh, that's the one I'm ringing mate. It's either on hold or rang out each time. I did get through to the 01604634319 number but a lady picked up and said I had the wrong extension and hung up??
Tried ringing it again to ask her what the appropriate number is but it's either engaged or rings out.

I'd be worried yes, mine says security checks passed and I'm no closer to finding out when I start than you as they don't pick up their bloody phones! :(

My status on the Royal Mail website is "SECURITY CHECKS PASSED" and has been for several weeks, but I haven't had any emails yet from them. My friend who asked to do the later shift received an email today (28th) saying that he starts on the 1st.
