Transferring unused stamp

Post by khairul »

Hi there everyone, I have a query:

I have a pre-stamped envelope which has become damaged.
The stamp is unused and I'd like to replace the envelope.

Is it okay if I cut around the edge of the stamp and Pritt Stick it onto a new envelope?
Would Royal Mail reject sending it on suspicion of attempted re-use of a stamp?

The stamp is the new style of 1st class self-adhesive.

Any help greatly appreciated, particularly so if you have personal experience of this.

Thank you.

Best stick the whole front of the envelope onto the new envelope.

Not worth the risk, best to bin it.
These items are normally subject to a surcharge these days and it will be the person your sending it to who will have to pay £1.36 for it. 36p for 2nd class postage and £1 surcharge fee.

Hi again,

I've decided to go with 'Lounge Lizard's advice as it seems like an unsuspicious way of doing it.

My original plan is a definite no-go after having read the post by 'chickywiggle' at http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 4&start=30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have a nice day, everyone :)
