Special delivery Questions.

Post by Sythen »

Good morning all.

Yesterday I had to box up some bits for RMA. I went down the local post office after packing up the bits and printing out the postage label from the manufacturer.
After getting the box weighed and ready for sending out, asked for special delivery, paid for the postage, and off i went.

After looking through the receipt for the tracking number, i found that the guy at the post office put the return post code into the system, instead of the post code of the address that
the box in question need to go.

(Below is an exact copy of the postage label i used, with some key details blanked out)

My question is, will a human being see this mistake, and correct it, or will the box that is supposed be delivered else were, come back to me?

Thanks very much for your time.

IF the address is on the front of the special delivery packet then it will get delivered as addressed.

The receipt may have been an error (not sure as don't work in PO) but it won't affect the physical parcel as the delivery side won't have any access to the system that printed it.

So 99% sure that it will be delivered as addressed. In fact if you have the tracking number check it with Track and Trace on the Royal Mail site. Sometimes it mentions the Delivery Office and if its not your local one that means its going through the system okay. But don't worry if it doesn't mention the Delivery Office it may still be on the way there.

Thanks for the insight, the track and trace of the Royal Mail website is as always vague as a John Prescott weight loss video, but I shall keep an eye out.

Thanks very much.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

He's laughing at a joke about the company that mentions the company name.
I would never do that.
He better hope his new chum is a lawyer.

Just to keep you informed, it reached its intended destination as you said it would. Which is a relief to be honest. Thanks again for your help.
