Xmass casual, (Angard staffing)

hello guy's.
i was hopefull of getting casual work for Xmass, but after reading a few of the threads,, it look's like im annother forgoten hopefull. I applied online / went to interview / passed security checks.
i was given a formal letter to start on 31st october assuming all checks are passed, i was told i would have a letter sent to me/even an email. but ive heard nothing at all and im supposed to start on monday at 2pm at eurocentral (scotland).
Now i dont know what to do ??
this is a little about me and why i was so hopefull,, OK, im 57, i lost my wife in 2010 (god rest her),, i was a full time carer for her for 23years, now it seems im on the scrapheap, No body wants an old guy in there employment with no qualifications.
so maybe you will see why i was very hopefull,, i now feel very down after feeling very hopefull << and that has been caused by angard staffing, as someone said in another thread,,(playing with peoples job hopes).

Well i know nothing of Angard or their staffing arrangements, only what i've read on here. But if you have, as you say,passed your interview and security checks, then all you are waiting for is an acknowledgement letter. You already know where and when your starting so why not just turn up ? Take along with you all the necessary ID, you can always plead ignorance and say you've left the letter home. What have you got to lose ?
Most of the Angard posters on here reckon they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery anyway

20 min after i made this post angard phoned me with the job offer, and the address of where the job is in eurocentral, they told me to turn up with my ID.
@Pinky,, i didnt know the actual address of where i should be working otherwise i might have considered your quote,,, the eurocentral is a massive place.

hi..I pass my security check and i got my offer letter to start work 31 October.I call them twice but they give me different information. Some says You have to wait for your ID pass come in post or something different.I received the call yesterday they just ask do you any offer letter when you starting which shift and location.I told them.But still not received or hear anything from them.Please anyone have some information let me know.thank you.

hi.I went to start my shift today at 10.30.I take my id and that offer letter.When i reach there the manager said to me your name is not listed and we don't received your id pass.So call the Angard and they will inform you.Its really disorganized.I will call them tomorrow.I hope they will say something positive that have to start work as soon as possible.

i got the exact same happen to me yesterday,, i got a call last night telling me they are looking into it and they said they would call back today..im waiting patiently for this call.
i hope you get it resolved.

greetings !
i applied for this thro an agency in the west country - i get to the register day and they give me a latter to say when to start and the hours.
get to the start day yesterday and 8 of us are turned away including me - no ID pass.
now waiting for email........................................!!

pathetic company - no contact details given - i used the phone number on one of the posts, no answer.
i called the original agency, no answer....

i've been on the scrap heap for 25 years...odd jobs, exploitation, blah blah!!

do angard not even care that it costs people money to attend the start date,only to be turned away because of there failings, and it's money most people cant afford to lose.
fortunately it cost me nothing as it only takes 15min walking to eurocentral,, but some people have probably had to pay for transport/suitable working gear.

yes of course - i paid for photos , travel, this n that ....about £15 from dole money.

hi...i m from crawley as well.We were 10 people.8 people have there ID passes.2 was turn out including me.They said you have to contact angard.i do not know whats going on.....I call them 2 time today.They took contact details.so they will call me.finger cross.Hope for the best
