Provisional Offer for casual xmas worker royal mail
I attended an interview and was given a provisional offer of a job (depending on checks etc) i went for this interview on 5th October and was told it could take 2-3 weeks to hear back from them. anybody any idea as to roughly how much longer i should give it, my worry is i just leave it and i dont hear anything back, and am depending on this job to see my family through xmas. Today is 3 weeks since my interview and no word.
Any input appreciated.

awful, the fact you cant actually find contact details for them when you type them into google is just poor to me, im grateful they have sort of offered me a job. i was told my position starts a few weeks before the daytime staff in my glasgow area. Just hoping i hear back from them, i dont see any reason how my check wouldnt pass etc.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Mine just changed from 'security checks passed' to 'processing offer', hopefully you see the same change soon. Still no idea how many more steps there may be though

I just had the phone call today asking me to attend an induction day next week![]()
I thought I should come and say hi first as I probably will be looking for help soon.
After a quick surf around the forum I saw a lot of prospective folks are wondering how long the application process will take.
Here's how I went through the application process (I don't know if this is of any help but hopefully will give people an idea):
12 Aug - Completed my application and online tests
23 Aug - Invited to Interview
31 Aug - Attended the Interview
1 Sep - Received Email about passing the Interview![]()
2 Sep - Job offered over the phone> status changed to "Processing Security Checks" (I was told this will take around 12 working days
)
15 Sep - Status changed to "Security checks completed"![]()
21 Sep - Phone call about Induction Day and start date
[Update]
22 Sep - Status change to "Processing Security Checks DS" (Again? maybe they just want to waste their money on Disclosure Scotland?)

Re: Provisional Offer for casual xmas worker royal mail
That took about 5 days, weekend though so only 3 working days. Today I got a phone call confirming my shift and start date, so it only takes about a day or 2 once you reach the 'processing offer' stage. Appparently I can expect an email within the next 48 hours with everything I need to know, so looks like everything's getting done in time.Mikey456 wrote:How long did it take to from from security checks passed to processing offer? Also should point out that if you miss the phone call as I did, they do call back so dont panic.
Hope your application goes as well as mine seems to be

Re: Provisional Offer for casual xmas worker royal mail
I also attended an interview on 5th Oct, to be quite honest it was a farce people were told to bring one passport photo, when they arrived they were told they needed two. The guys doing the interview didn't seem to have a clue as to what they were doing. I was given a provisional start date, however the RM website is still showing interview booked.

Re: Provisional Offer for casual xmas worker royal mail
Angard seem overwhelmed by the sheer number of applications, i have offers but no way of contacting them to check progress. 'Unresolved Query' emails return back with the pre-configured automated response. ..Angrad employ a customer service rep for yourself with a phone. It will do yoursel some good trust me.
I understand you are dealing with 80000 applications for temp positions, but hey you dint hire me in HR otherwise i'd do at least a 1000 of those applications in 4-5 days. Come on call me you know you need help.
