Mail going missing or heavily delayed?

Post by ookmckook »

Well i Live in aberaman south wales and over the last couple of months I've noticed my mails become more and more sporadic, Phoned the sorting center and got the opinion from the way the guy was speaking of he wasn't really bothered. Things mostly do turn up but way way later than they should.

An order from GAME.co.uk , used to get these withing 2 days , took 19 days even though it was confirmed as sent

Bank cards went 5 weeks with no card then all of a sudden the card arrived along with the 2 other replacement replacements.

Tesco's total of replacement "loyalty cards" sent 4 , received 1 , Birthday cards from family 6 out of 10 missing (they don't contain money as thats just transferred straight to my account), a council tax statement , p45 from my old job , contract from my new job all missing.

A letter from my landlord turned up 3 weeks late. luckily landlord was present when the mail arrived else I would have had severe trouble.

And as I was curious I sent a letter to myself from a postbox in the post office NEXT DOOR , and that 1st class letter sent on the 28th of september arrived on the 19th of october along with the clump of mail some dating back as far as the end of august (including my BT renewals letter which now means im tied into a contract I intended to cancel).

I don't want to get the local posties (as we seem to have a different one on the rare occasion they are seen on our road delivering) But any advice on what step to take next would be appreciated.

I would write a letter to the

Delivery Office Manager
Aberdare Delivery Office
Aberaman Industrial Estate,
Aberaman,
Aberdare,
Mid Glamorgan
CF44 6ZZ

and see if he can throw any light.

Don't worry about dropping the posties in it.

1. It may be anyone of a myriad of management problems (no staff, new method of delivery, lack of vehicles/equipment etc) and you shouldn't get any posties into trouble in that case.
2. If its a postie caused problem then he/she needs a kick up the arse and will deserve it.

From experience No 1 is more likely than No 2.

It may also, if you get no solution or satisfaction, be worth checking with neighbours/friends around the village to see if its an isolated problem or a widespread one. If its common then contact your MP and get them working on it. That is a terrible service and you should complain asap.

Something is going seriously wrong at the delivery office and needs looking into. I doubt that it will be your postie's fault but more likley to be part of a re-structure progam which is clearly failing.
