TNT Post UK launches packets and parcels service to meet demand of e-retailers http://www.prlog.org/11673644-tnt-post- ... ilers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
TNT Post UK, the largest private sector postal operator in the UK, has launched a new packets and parcels delivery service following demand from e-retailers, for a reliable and cost effective service to satisfy their expanding online customer base.
At launch, the company has secured Guernsey Post as a client, which will see well-known high street brands use the service with their deliveries being handled by TNT Post UK. Current projected volumes are 17 million items in the first year of operation with the company targeting vendors who use websites sites such as Kelkoo and ebay to promote their products.
TNT Post UK has invested in new automatic sorting machines in its Iver depot for the new packets and parcels service and is expected to be five to ten per cent cheaper than Royal Mail.
One of the innovations TNT Post UK has brought to the new service is real time management information where clients will be able to apply barcodes to their packets which enables progress to be monitored online. This will reduce the product attrition and improve customer service leading ultimately to the retailer saving money.
TNT Post UK has simplified the customer experience through introducing flexible collection times that suit the customer with no need to separate domestic and international items.
Recent research from the 2011 IMRG Consumer Delivery Survey revealed that bad delivery experience with an e-retailer discouraged repeat purchase by 31.5 per cent. This is the second consecutive year in which bad delivery experience has influenced choice of online purchase, proving that positive delivery is paramount.
Shaun Lihou, Head of Bulk Mail, Guernsey Post endorsed the service commented: “We have to ensure that our clients receive an efficient and quality service and working with TNT Post will enable us to fulfil that promise.”
Nick Wells, CEO, TNT Post said:
“Our expansion into packets and parcels is a key part of strategic growth plan in the UK. We have applied our principles of innovation, customer service and value for money to this new offer. Online vendors will now benefit from enhanced management information which will enable them to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs. Online retail packets and parcel delivery is a growing trend within the postal sector and our aim is to be the main provider in this sector.”

Re: TNT Post UK launches packets and parcels service
Good luck with that TNT ... Oh and bye the way ... don't dump them on us when you can't deliver them - we have enough people complaining of delays of items that are DSA via TNT that have been sent to Holland to be sorted.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Re: TNT Post UK launches packets and parcels service
The article mentions their plans for improving collections but bugger all about how they propose to improve the customers' experience when it comes to deliveries.
More DSA? Let the mugs from Royal Mail do the real work while they undercut our prices?
It really is about time that we found a way to fight back.
