My 'Home' Crown Office

Post by The BFO »

I'm not one to gloat but post this merely for the purposes of information.

I was happy to be evicted from Bridgwater when it was 'converted' five years ago...

I would still be very interested to know why neither WH Smith or Wilkinsons want this, or why Martins pulled out at the earliest possible opportunity.

I would suggest that the answer might lie in 'return on investment' , with the pitiful rates that POL pay for transactions, something which will not get much better with the advent of 'locals' in future.

Wrt the placement of the temproary service, these technical difficulties fly in the face of the spin when Horizon was first introduced in that df there was a catastrophic event at an office POl would have the capability to provide an alternative service in a very short time scale, with the advances in telecoms over that time seems like it was wishful thinking.

The Wembdon and Parkway Sub Post Offices, each about two miles from the town centre, must welcome their extra business. :nana
There are other towns of about 36,000 population with less than two sub-offices already.

Six years ago we had an 11 Position Crown Office, with 17 staff. Cramming all the customers we used to serve into Wembdon and Parkway would be an interesting sight on Monday morning.
