Hi,
I live in Oldham (Manchester) and order a fair few things per week via the internet. I'd say I order 5 parcels/packets per week, most of which are 1st class standard and recorded delivery (90% of the time a signature isn't requested and just put through letterbox too).
I've phoned RM customer services, lodged pointless complaints, and have now decided to complain via postrs whom are very interested.
Everytime I phone RM, i'm just told that an email will be sent to the manager of the Oldham sorting office, yet things haven't been amended 3 weeks hence.
I also notice that mail often arrives in large quantities as opposed to scattered as it once was.
Anybody got any inclination as to where my first class packets are being hoarded all week?
I was under the impression that circa 99% of first class mail reached its destination on the following 1-2 days, but am at a loss as to why i'm in the 1% bracket of late deliveries despite the fact I live in an urban and busy area.

I answered your comments in the other post, tbh I would try to speak to the DO manager directly. IF (that's a big IF) CS are forwarding your mail to him, then it's him/her that's choosing not to respond to you. See about all the changes on the other thread. As for the recorded items, it shouldn't happen, however the postie could feel that he's doing you a favour and saving him a minute or 2.

He said they were making changes to how they did the rounds and that things should improve promptly. That was about a month ago. Just today I had a first-class packet turn up five working days overdue. Last week there was a 6:40pm (!) delivery of ten packets, seven being overdue (none tracked though unfortunately, but they were of course from different companies based in different parts of the country). Understaffed and poorly managed covers 95% of the countrys DOs
You must remember most of the time its not the posties fault, its just getting harder and harder to do the job with the stupid pointless revisions we have to endure

Wezzo sounds like the changes are affecting your office so much so that packets are not given priority, sounds like they are letting them build up then paying someone overtime to go out and deliver them

See this is what happens when you privatise a postal market and make it all about profit and not a public service any more.
It's not going to get any better so either put up with it or rage at your local MP and tell him/her to tell the government to put it back to how it used to be before privatisation. If everyone did that it would be great, you'd get your mail first thing in the morning again 6 days a week without fail.
