Re: Liverpool - Lots of mail going missing.
Problems may or may not be down to:
1. Copperas Hill - Liverpool's mail centre - being closed down. All the processing was moved to Warrington.
2. TNT I believe do deliveries in Liverpool (as well as Royal Mail) - although they don't do the whole of Liverpool.
Its always possible that there is theft going on - Royal Mail employ 160,000 people on the delivery side - by the law of averages some must be "wrong uns"
Daily Mail Tesco Rewards - I take it you don't like unbiased news reporting

I don't think royal mail employ 160,000 in delivery. With everything been cut the last while its more like 100,000. It's more like 160,000 group wide.

That's not important.girlnextdoor wrote:Well they've all had to refund me.....
If sellers are at it they will refund the noisiest and make money from the rest.
It's amazing how many don't make a fuss and how long they can keep it going for.
If you ordered 5 things and none of them turned up then something local is wrong with your deliveries.
If you ordered 100 things and 95 turned up it's more likely the problem is elsewhere.
Are we talking missing or late? The point is, the frequency of missing mail is much higher than usual. Something doesn't smell right.
Do you get some mail every day or go 3 or 4 days without any and then get a pile at once?

highlight the problem to RM Customer Services and the Local Delivery Office. If it is sticky fingers, it makes them aware that there is a potential problem.

I don't what has happened or the facts so I cannot comment on that part, in all future deliveries, I would advise paying for Special Deliveries or recorded for low value items, that way you can keep track of all deliveries, it may cost a bit more, you will know what has happened,, Specials are tracked at every stage, recorded delivery signed on a card usually scanned in at the end of the day or if they are using electronic Pads instantly,

Re: Liverpool - Lots of mail going missing.
You may have gone down that road about a year ago, but by reading any of the other complaints, you will notice that RM are going through some major changes atm. It could be that the management are unaware that there is a problem, or they are aware and trying to fix it. Therefore best to highlight the problem (again)

Sorry, you lost me for a bit when you said that.Daily Mail
And it is not newspaper snobbery, it's fact.
Of course it is possible someone is stealing, it's also possible that sellers are stealing as well. However most customers go straight for the jugular and blame royal mail, often the postman, straight away, with no trial or proof. Often for the packet to turn up next day or the eBay seller later suspended.
5 parcels going missing out of a load you ordered is simply not enough information to go on. Were they high value items? Something a thief is likely to target?
How long have you been waiting for the latest to be deemed stolen?
Or did they turn up in the end?
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

If thieving is suspected I would, as I guess would most people here, expect at least a curtious update after a blatant accusation whatever the outcome.
However I guess your silence reveals a lot.
