I thought I'd join in on here. I signed up so I could look at discussions of you current posties to see what it's like before I had my interview.
I had my interview. Two days later they wanted me to take some stuff in that I had forgotten at the interview, and while there I was told I had the job. Got home and had an email saying I'll be getting contacted shortly after security checks and stuff.
So, that's it. Hello everyone I'm looking forward to starting.

I've worked at Royal Mail twice, once in 2001 - 2003 and again at Christmas last year, the employees are a smashing lot, really friendly and team spirited. I went to work somewhere else after 2003, won't mention which local government but most of them were the most awful back-biting bunch that I've ever met or ever hope to meet again. When I worked at Royal Mail Christmas 2010, it was like going from Hell to Heaven, it took me a-back how friendly staff were.
