I want to apologise to our postlady!!
Hi There.
Over the last year we have been receiving mail for the house in the next street. I have reported this and received a response. I have also spoken to the postperson who did not seem too bothered.
Last Thursday we received some more post for the house in the next street. So on Thursday night - I put a note on the door stating the address of our street and asking not to receive post for any other address. The note was polite and to the point.
On Friday morning, I heard the post lady at the door and she had written that the day before a trainee had delivered the post. I spoke to her at the door and said that we must have had several trainees over the last year as it happens regulary! This is when it got out of hand and it turned into an argument. During the argument - I was rude to the post lady and I went over the top.
The next day when the same post lady came to the door. I was waiting - because I wanted to apologise. My first words were, " I want to apologise........." The thing is that she completely blanked me out and walked off. I do understand this as she probably did not want another argument. I wrote a note of apology and took it round to the local sorting office and asked that they pass it on.
Without giving specific addresses away - the sorting office is in Brinklow - Milton Keynes.
Whilst I do want to get the misdeliveries sorted - I also want to make sure that the postlady knows that I am sorry for my rudeness. I do not think that she will speak to me face to face as I have tried this.
My question is - do you think I have done enough? I have tried to apologise in person and I have taken a note round to the sorting office. In addition to this , there was never any indication of physical agression. I was just frustrated over the last year to get so much misdelivered post. I want to get this sorted as we will probably be bumping into each other over the next few years and I don't want a war with the postie!

How do you know that she didn't feel physically threaten by your actions?
The fact she is still delivering your post is a good sign, maybe buy her flowers and chocolates.

TBH for a few yrs my round was covered on my days off / holiday by a pair of **** s who lets just say had a lax attitude to delivering to the correct houses. It aways seemed the customers would wait until i got back to have a rant . If you have been adult enough to appologies for going alittle OTT then that should be enough. You may be not on her xmas card list this year but it'll blow over , and as the changes kick in at RM she'll have more things to worry about than the odd disgruntled customer.

the one where they start" I know its not you............"
then proceed to whine for 10 minutes about it

Wouldn't have this problem if R M didn't give us time off for holidays and sickness.

Typical lazy full timers, blaming the reserves yet again for their own mistakes/feelings of self importance.
But I won't as it splits the workplace.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
