RE: Change of address, Post Office account

Post by Krishna »

Just moved into a new property and have phoned the Post Office that a change of address was needed on my Post Office card account. No real problem but they said they would send a confirmation to my new address AND the old address. I can understand this is for security (in case I hadn't actually moved and someone had changed the details for me) but the man on the phone said that the letter sent to the old address would not be in my name? I don't understand. What is the policy here? Surely both letters will contain my account details and should be addressed in my name? Surely this is a mistake?

I think what they meant was that it would go to the old address but will not have your name on it. ie The occupier or something similar.
