who keeps nicking my parcels?/Worcester

hi,can someone help me with this?i live in worcester,and over the last 4 months ive had 5 parcels go missing,each parcel contains vinyl records 7" or 12" from all over the world.these are posted to my parents address and none of their parcels go missing nor do any other parcels of mine,only records.strange eh?what can i do about this?

How trustworthy are your supplier(s)?
You say yourself they come from all over the world,remember we are only the final leg of that journey.
You may want to insist on some form of tracked service,it may cost more but at least improve your chances of tracing the problem.

very trustworthy,there all friends of mine,people ive known for years.when ive made them aware that the records have gone missing,they have re sent them with extras to make up for the loss.very cool people in a small music scene.

also may i add,ive been ordering records through the post world wide for over 15 years and never once have i lost anything until the last few months

If you really think there is a problem you could try contacting Royal Mails security desk. They are the oldest investigation branch in the world. Officially I believe you have to go through RM customer Services, which can be a bind, but it does leave an audit trail. 08457 740 740 is the number to call

So are the packages that are missing all international orders or UK orders too?

As always I would try the local delivery office just in case the red cards have been folded in beside leaflets etc. Failing that contact CS. With so many items going missing it could highlight a problem in that area, or in the sorting office.

If there's national and international stuff going missing it would seem that the problem may be local to you. Maybe a new postie leaving them with neighbours who forget/dont pass them on, maybe a backlog at the office for your folks' area. I know, i know but stranger things have happened. If its a tight knit scene they'll not turn up on Ebay, Discogs or whatever without them being noticed.

more records ordered,more records gone missing.ive complained and complained,made pointless phone calls and the problem continues.oh no,its not us,it the people who sent them to you.cant put in to words how angry i am.

Who have you spoken to? The local delivery office? The postie? Customer Services? Sorting Office?
Now this is just a thought, if you're using paypal has the default delivery address changed? My account randomly changed the default so for a period of a few weeks i had stuff going to my g/f's old address.
Mabe it's time to have them delivered to another address or have them sent recorded. Doesnt get you your missing records i know but might help you get any outstanding orders.
What kind of music are we talking about? ltd pressing/valuable? what postcode area in Worcester?

its all hardcore punk,its all posted in record boxes 7" and 12".you look at the parcels and know what they are.paypal hasnt been touched,my other parcels turn up no problem,only the orders for records dont.spoken to delivery office and the sorting office on the phone,same response each time"its not us,its the people sending them,nothing wrong here"customer services,press 1,press 3, now press 1 .useless.total now stands at six parcels missing in the last few months.nothings ever gone missing in years ive been collecting records until now,keep having to ask the same people to resend or give refunds,which dosnt reflect to good on me.

OK folks of the board where along the line could the records be going astray if theyre coming from the UK and abroad?

Half a dozen in a few months smells to high heaven as does the stock response of 'it must be the sender'.

Just a suggestion but what if they've been snagged by customs for some reason? Insufficient postage, tax not paid something like that it takes weeks for customs to forward the items on RM then for RM to send out a grey card telling you to collect it. It's the only thing I can think off that would hold up items from abroad going to your parents address while other items going there are fine.
