recently offered a position as postman with driving. induction is next week and due to start at the DO the following day. from what I can gather reading through these threads uniform takes a little while to come through and won't be given out immediately as it obviously starts out as a temporary contract. therefore I need to purchase some relevant work clothes; trousers, shorts and boots.
can anyone recommend any particular boots (or trousers/shorts for that matter)?
thanks in advance.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in,trackies are good.
Very comfortable boots/trainers is a must, chances are you will be doing a lot of walking,i would ignore the driving part tbh,all jobs are advertised as that.
What is your contract hrs/length?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'd recommend a cheap pair of running shoes. I found boots uncomfortable whereas a good pair of runners are light and comfy to wear :)
