Hi, I have my induction next week and start a 6 month contract as an OPG the day after. What do you think the chances are of being kept on?

Hi good luck and keep your head down and look for another job. If the CWU are active in your office join, if not save your cash! If your going to break the rules do it in RMs favour not yours cause you will lose your job otherwise!

Depends to be honest - the whole business is in the middle of changing how it delivers and that will affect the chances of being kept on. Also we should be privatised in about a year or so and there will undoubtedly be a lot of "people" movement before and after. Best thing to do is try to keep abreast of the local situation and keep popping on here for the national picture.

BTW you'll get a lot of complaints and moaning on here but it is still a good job. I moan a lot on here and at work yet I still like the job and I spend time on here as well, like most things the job is what you make it.
