The mail was going through, albeit with some delays, for the past two weeks, but now Canada Post has halted all mail with a nation-wide lock out.
Postal workers in Gander, from left, Ken Mercer (Canada Post Corporation employee for 25 years), Andrew Dumaresque (CPC employee for eight years), John Quinlan (CPC employee for 10 years), and Roxanne Wareham (CPC employee for 30 years) were among those locked out Tuesday.
Working without a collective agreement since Jan. 31, Canada’s postal workers initiated a series of rotating strikes across the country on June 2, with services at most of offices shutdown for 24 hours. The rotating strikes usually occurred in three or four locations across the country.
It has been reported that no mail will be moving through Canada Post in the foreseeable future.
