Lost parcel from Europe - HELP!
Ok so I ordered a parcel of CDs from Romania a month ago. I've ordered stuff off this guy before and it has come within 5 days usually but my latest package hasn't arrived and it's been a month now since I ordered. He says he tracked it with his post service and it left his country ok so it's obvious it has got lost somewhere in the UK upon delivery. Now I don't think I have anyway of finding out where it is now even though it was sent registered so is there any possible way I can get a refund? I know it's supposed to be the senders responsibility to chase this up but as he says it left Romania fine there's not much more he can do? I'm at a loss here as to what to do next.

Re: Lost parcel from Europe - HELP!
the sellers contact is with romanian post (or whatever they may call it).
there is no case for RM to answer really as there is no evidence it ever even arrived in the UK.

Re: Lost parcel from Europe - HELP!
I know it's not possible to track incoming mail from Europe through the website, but if I went down to the depot with the tracking number would it be any more use? Seems a bit ridiculous if you pay for tracked post but it's only tracked in the country it's sent in.

Probably not - what might help is if you have a Twitter account you can follow @RoyalMail and tweet them. They are very proactive and will send DMs etc to try and sort it for you.Memnarch wrote:Sorry meant the royal mail depot where I would usually pick up parcels if I wasn't in, not the PO

It's the sellers responsibility to get the item to the buyer. Doesn't matter if its Amazon, eBay, Argos or Argentina.
Get your refund from the seller and let them chase up claiming their money back.

Hiya,
Under the sale of goods act, it's the senders responsibility to ensure that the package gets to you. How did you pay for the items? Paypal are pretty good especially if he can't prove delivery. Raise a claim. And I'm pretty sure the distance selling regulations cover abroad too. A quick google search for Distance Selling Regulations should confirm this.
You could pop down to your local delivery office and check to see if the package is there, it could be that the card has been amongst leaflets and been put in the bin, take ID with you and ask.
The tracking number in RMs site may work if the item has been scanned into the office on return, give it a go, although I know a lot of people don't always scan internationals.
Hope that helps.
