ColleagueShare is a Company incentive scheme set up in 2007 by Royal Mail in agreement with Government. The Department, therefore, has had discussions with Royal Mail about the operation of the scheme including their valuation of the ColleagueShares.

The final value of the ColleagueShares will not, however, be known until the end of the scheme in 2012. So far, dividends of £1,600 have been paid to ColleagueShare holders and the scheme is expected to have paid out £2,200 to most members by the time it closes in March 2012.

You are more willing to strike over a scam which always had the chance of not paying out, and was always a bung in my opinion to introduce changes to and worsen our working conditions, and which Royal Mail always said

Ah well we may disagree why we are going to strike but if there is democratic support for a strike I hope everyone will do so, no matter the underlying reason.

And even if you went on strike for the colleagueshares tomorrow and Royal Mail caved in some people would get £1000 plus and some wouldn't.
Only those who were employed when the shares were allocated in 2007 and 2008 would have received the buyback payment.
Which leaves the question....what would anyone who started in the last 3 years be striking and losing money for?
And how many days action would even those due a payment have to take before you have lost as much money as you are fighting to regain?
Colleagueshares are a point of principle but not a valid reason in themselves for industrial action.

How is it fair that post office counters have had a bonus( a friends wife works there) and also a friend who left the business a year ago has recieved 2 cheques 1 for £600 and another for £400 and yet we recieve jack s**t and even if we do its on our pay therefore gets taxed. Another reason why this job is Fookin shite

Here we go again am I turning RMC into a disinformation site:

1. We are getting exactly the same as POL - During the life of BT2010. Remember the £600, £200, £200 revision payments - it equals £1000 and comes from Colleague shares.
2. POL are also taxed on it.
3. Everyone who left the business before Oct got a pro rata payment of £1054 as per the CS Scheme. Its only recently that it changed and people leaving since earlier this year got reduced amounts if anything at all.

Me I don't mind RM getting it in the neck but I prefer if its with facts rather than rumour.
