SG Package

Post by gohan20 »

Hello all i am very pleased to have come across such a forum. i am curious as to this SG sticker? is it a most definite they'll be delivered to the specified address? on a Saturday? as when i type in my barcode i get this.

Your item with reference SCXXXXXXXXXXXGB has been held for delivery on Monday. This is either at the request of the receiving customer or because the address is an exclusion for Saturday deliveries.

It was not requested to be delivered on a Monday as far as i am aware so are there certain address that are not included in the SG? and if so, shouldn't the person selling you the Guaranteed Saturday delivery inform you of that address not being included? I am sorry for any misunderstandings on my part as to this but i am rather baffled

It's because many businesses and offices are closed on a Saturday but there's no way that the seller of the SG will know which they are.

Does the item actually have an SG sticker on it because delivery should be attempted on a Saturday if it has. I'm not sure if it still stands but Special Delivery next day guarantee only really applies Monday-Friday and delivery on a Saturday has always been optional (until SG stickers anyway).

FFS if a Special comes in it then goes out whether it has a SG on it or not, at least in my office

The woman must have put about 8 SG stickers on the parcel. i paid for special delivery and another 2 odd quid for it to be on Saturday. as i was hoping to get everything sorted on Saturday/Sunday

I'd not assume they have requested to not have mail/parcels delivered on a Saturday as i was returning a mobile phone to T Mobile and they confirmed twice over the phone that collections did occur on Saturday till 4pm. and the postal code does not fall underneath the exclusions. This is why i am so baffled

Well our office would not be making collections from T Mobile or any other business at 4pm on a Saturday ! We finish collections at 1pm and deliveries around 2pm.
The postal codes listed should not be read as a blanket coverage either. There will be companies accepting a Saturday delivery within them, as well as business's refusing mail outside of these areas. And please don't blame the counters for not knowing which is which when you posted your item, these decisions are made at a local area level by the companies themselves.

I was just curious as to the counter knowing and it was only to be delivered. nothing to be collected from T Mobile on my part. Anyways thank you for all your assistance i shall be talking to the counter tomorrow or Wednesday to see why this may have occured
