Either deliver the letter or go and explain to the customer why there has been a hold up.
And see if you can find Amelia while you are about it.

We all know that everything that doesn't get delivered ends up at RLC so maybe they could take a trip up to Belfast

Hi

why are you saying I should do this that and the other, I should have to do nothing except register my letter and expect it to turn up in the office of the organisation
it was addressed to. What I find worst off all is the attiude of everyone is, its lost, what the hell, do down the claim route for compensation another way of fobbing you off.
there is little chance of it turning up now they said. with that attitude I am beginning to think I have a better chance of seeing Shergar coming down the road with the letter in his mouth.

TBH your attitude is what has made us a bit off, you paid An Post so you need to take it up with them, nothing to do with us posties who post on a message board in our free time.

If you really want to know where we send registered mail that we don't want to deliver then you need to check here http://www.area51mailhole.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :nervous

Moved to customer forum.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The thread or the letter?

Oaklands your attitude towards the posties on here is rather hostile. These are boards run by posties to give each other more information because RM are not so great on the communications front. The guys who run it have included a customer part so we can, in our own free time, help customers where possible with information that's required. It's nothing to do with Royal Mail, other than the fact that most of the guys either work for RM or have done in the past.

Now for the legal stuff. IF the letter has been lost, then your contract is with AnPost. It's them who deal with RM on your behalf. Did you have a return address on the envelope? Are you 100% sure that the item had the correct address and post code on it. Royal Mail are far from perfect, however considering how many registered items are lost compared to how many they deliver (very low percentage) I hardly think Post Offices in Ireland need warnings. How ridiculous would that be?

Hi

I am angry, the letter was going to a charity in the UK for children and young people
with bone cancer, it had a large donation in it from irish people
and now they and the cancer sufferers have been badly let down and I feel responsible.
