It might help if you could say which country it was posted from and quote the internationally recognised 13 digit tracking number, i.e. 2 letters, 9 numbers, 2 letters indicating the country.

Perhaps you should check it with Royal Mail --------------------- also before you go read the last line on every page of this website - in fact I'll copy and paste it for you. Image

We have no affiliation with either Royal Mail or the Communications Workers Union (CWU), except that most of our members work for Royal Mail and/or are members of the CWU.

I also feel that we need to point out people contribute to this site out of choice and in their own time, and that your approach was not exactly going to get a helpful response in those circumstances was it. :Very Happy

From the user name I am guessing.................Oakland. USA.
Now here is the spooky thing.....

Oakland was the departing point of several historic flights, including Charles Kingsford Smith's historic US-Australia flight in 1928, and Amelia Earhart's final flight in 1937.

Now as we all know after leaving Oakland Amelia just disappeared.
So it would appear the problem is in Oakland. Is it some sort of Bermuda Triangle?

Hi

If the evidence is that the letter was scanned in langley
I investigated it and as I said
was accepted in the Langley in the UK which there is evidence of
and from there its dissappeared into some great black hole and
not much by explaination by the royal mail customer services
except to say not much hope in getting it now.
its not good enough.
when I went to the post office counter in ireland
they should have a warning notice over their heads
that registered letters may or may not get to their destination that is the address you have on your envelope.
but if it goes missing its you tough luck now sod off.
the public should be made aware of this.
they have default answers on websites but it means nothing.
the reg number is RL306431571 IE going to leeds I hour away from here by plane and the royal mail cannot do what they are suppose to do.
then they hide behind a website so as not to inconvenience themselves.

You want them to come and visit you. You are in another country

I'll try and keep this simple.

You paid AnPost - therefore your contract is with them and you need to sort it out through them.

AnPost paid Royal Mail and they will sort it out through their normal contacts/contracts.

If you check this page you have already gone over the 10 days for claiming http://search.anpost.ie/search?q=lost%2 ... t_frontend" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In the UK minimum wait is 15 working days.

Also why would Anpost have a warning sign about Royal Mail - a different company in a different company. I am amazed though they people still expect 100% of items to arrive on time and with no problems mind you AnPost are a little smaller than Royal Mail

Every working day, 10,000 An Post staff, urban, rural, full-time and part-time
Royal Mail 160,000

collect, process and deliver more than 2.5 million items of mail
Royal Mail 75 million
to 2.1 million business and residential addresses
Royal Mail 28 million
using a road fleet of 2,680 vehicles and 1,645 bicycles
Royal Mail 33,000 vehicles - bicycles numbers going down

In an operation of this size its impossible to have a 100% success rate which is why there are ways you can claim for any loss or damage. While a loss is regrettable Royal Mail cannot help you as your contract is with An Post.

Teebs - stop hiding behind your website.
Either deliver the letter or go and explain to the customer why there has been a hold up.
And see if you can find Amelia while you are about it.

Hi

whether you handle 1 piece of post or billions is not an answer, I am saying the royal mail website is all default answers and they do not want to talk to customers by telephone
just by their website. I know this is just a message board,

I have already sent up an investigation in my own country 10 days ago.

I just wish when I went into my local post office here in Ireland with my letter I should have been told that this very important letter may not get to its destination as the royal mail
cannot do this with 100% success rate. Then I could have looked at my options, I was an innocent person trusting the service. I just think you should have a warning sign up to let
people know what the situation is and to get a grip of themselves if they think their letter may get to its destination and paying out 12 times the cost for that headache when it does not turn up.

It is a bit like shergar they cannot find him either maybe my letter and the horse are in the same black hole.
