Resign: No idea but I don't think so because the Pension Plan is nothing to with Royal Mail they are separate companies, and you are already receiving it.

Dismissed - Don't know but it may depend on circumstances.

You could visit http://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or email them direct they will be able to give to a solid answer.

As far as I'm aware your pension is bought and that actually pays you (an annuity I think) and once purchased is yours for life (unless the courts take it off you).

If you are already recieving your pension there is no way RM can take it off you!

Annuities only apply to money purchase/defined contribution pensions where you have a pot of money invested with a insurance company or bank. The RM pension, assuming you started before 2008 is a defined benefit scheme, therefore payment comes out of its coffers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
