Well the way I look at it, I was expecting nothing, so anything over that is a bonus. I'm glad to be out of it at the end of the day. It's you guys who are still in the job who are getting shafted more and more with everything they do. Will pay for a nice night out on the sauce and maybe a new pair of boots, i do love my boots :)

When you read some of the "it's all about me" attitudes of some people on here it's no wonder the workforce/union are so impotent.

nothing against you lot who have left but really!
Understand how you feel but the agreement with VR was we would receive the value of our shares and the value would be determined by the last valuation date prior to leaving. Also it did state we would be receive a Stakeholder Dividend at the same time of the other recipients.

At least with current employees (or should I say Colleagues or perhaps team members) you have a chance of further goodies as with us who decided to call it a day will not benefit. Surely you do not begrudge us a few hundred pounds - who knows for us the equivalent of the workshop may becon. :chuckle

Gotta agree with the above tbh. Yes it's naughty that the guys who are still in RM still haven't received anything, but did it surprise u really?

The all about me attitude is here and now for me I'm afraid. I'm out of RM so altho I wish you guys well in the good fight, it won't matter to me.... So call me selfish if u must, alas, it's the last payment i'll get from them..Worth getting angry over for a few extra quid? Or sit back, enjoy a few beers on RM and thoroughly enjoy my retirement?

Sorry for being selfish but the latter works every time

As Mike says, a more positive reaction would've been anger that we've all been stitched up, rather than "It's better than nothing" and "Why has he got it when I haven't?".

What's the point in being angry at it? is it going to achieve anything? Would the union step in for us who have left and not paying subs anymore? Sometimes it's easier to accept than keep fighting. If i was still with the company, then maybe, just maybe....I'll be happy to take what i got and continue toenjoy my retirement without the daily battles

That's the whole trouble. The rights that workers now have were fought for by previous generations over the years. Whereas many of today's workers just expect everything to be handed them on a plate. Moaning bastards without the balls for a battle.

I've done my time of fighting them all, am done with it.. no more fight left, no balls? Probably factually correct as in no testes, but when i was working there, i probably had more balls than the whole office, but plz tell me what the fight will achieve for those of us who have left

As I said before, the "all about me" attitude.

Honestly has it ever been any different. Its a dog eat dog world. That expression was said to me over 30 years ago when I worked for Post office communications and still applies today.

Was it any different? I would say yes, if the current whinging eunuchs in the workplace had been around years ago there would've been no workers rights.
