can i ask why the pension deficit is being included in the figures that mean we will not be getting anything for collegue shares when government have said they will move us to new pension to sweeten up potential buyers plus with all the evr s that have been given of course there is a black hole in pension there are less and less people paying in but more taking out.why do we claim to be investing in the future when in ouir office we have been given 16 year old machines that are knackered investing in future means new machines yes it would cost but would save money in long term.also cant understand how it is cheaper to give out evr to someone on single rate then be short of man hours so pay overtime to cover them?

Wages are not the only staff cost to the employer, RML could be looking to reduce some of those costs by shifting work into O/T if O/T works out cheaper than normal wages and associated staff costs.

O/T is cheaper Daz, certainly with our overtime rate it is.
NO pension costs, NO holiday costs, NO sick costs, NO supplement costs, NO training costs, NO uniform costs
and it's 100% efficient you work every minute you are paid and are not paid 1 minute more.
ie. your not contracted to do it if your contracted to work 8 hours and it's a light tuesday, you might work all the hours you are paid but not neccaseraly flat out.
