Workers of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), are continuing with their sit-down strike. When Radio Ghana got to the offices of the GNA, workers were seen with red bands and were either chatting in groups or watching TV.

The secretary to the Communications Workers Union, Felix Attukwei Quaye, described the current situation at the Agency as a power crisis and that, until the crisis is resolved, workers are not prepared to work.

He said the substantive issue the workers are basing their stance on is for the embattled General Manager of the GNA, Nana Apau Duah, to proceed on retirement since he has reached the 60-year threshold for workers to retire.

Other staff of the GNA who spoke to GBC's Radio Ghana say Nana Apau Duah has led the Agency for the past four years with little being done in terms of a clear cut vision for the growth of the GNA.
