Special delivery Status redirected

Hi all im new to these forums, i have a simple question i have paid for royal mail next day saturday delivery to northern ireland, it was not delivered on saturday but was scheduled for today and has not arrive instead, when i go to track the item it says redirected can someone please tell me what this means. Has it been sent to a different sorting office or has it been misplaced somewhere along the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't really know whats wrong, phone customer services and give them the tracking number.

well you see i tried that earlier and they said it never arrived at my local sorting office but it did arrived at the main mail handling center in belfast, but never made it as here the last known location was belfast on saturday

You have to pay extra for a saturday delivery, but it should have been delivered today. More than likely its in the mail centre in Mallusk, cause special deliverys are scanned at delivery offices to say there out for delivery.

RM run a Twitter service which seems to work @RoyalMail but they only work office hours (9-5 I think).

well thats what they told me, on saturday and i had paid for saturday delivery aswell

maybe the recipent has a redirection ? if hes moved from northern ireland to scotland it cant be delivered same day thats why it says redirected

okay this was sent to my parents house in northern ireland, it was a gift i came back from uni on friday, was supposed to be here saturday never arrived, so when i checked the date was 18th "yesturday" after 1pm the status changed to re-directed, i live here with my parents all of us still live there has been no redirection of mail at all.

hi, sorry to hear of your SD issues.

your only option would be to take it up with royal mail.

i believe twitter is the best way of comnuication @royalmail within office hours.
