Guys,
sorry for this but the last mont i had a parcel lost.
Basically ebay item, i have used RM all the time and all were fine. That was the first time!
I filled up the form, post office receipt, paypal receipt, ebay listing, got a letter response that we will handle it etc etc
(it would take time etc etc we maybe need to contact recipient etc etc).
All fine, my tracking number was AH529102543GB.

Item AH529102543GB was posted at 149 Newmarket Ro CB5 8HA on 21/02/11 and is being
progressed through our network for delivery.
It still reposrts like that!!! 12/April/2011!
OK. Now again the same thing! Check out this! AH854340018GB
Exactly same story! One week now and the item its still processed? That means they ve lost it again?
I am thinking if its the specific post office, because the last month two out of eight have gone missing
on this post office! (two including this) Can it be this? Can I do something to avoid again filling a claim and wait?
Both items around 40ish pounds value.
Regards,

Next time send it Special Delivery. Bet it gets there then.

Re: RECORDED PARCELS LOST
Just a point for you, are these items definitely lost? Or is it just that they are not showing as delivered? Sometimes it has been known for postmen to deliver recorded delivery items and not get a signature, now that practice is a big no no, but you should check with the recipient to make sure they haven't got them before they are declared lost

Yes the first one is like that, lost abd the recipient confirmed that he never took it.zx135 wrote:Just a point for you, are these items definitely lost? The secoond one I dont know yet its just a week really but I am very worrying!
As for the special delivery, well you know, not a lot of ppl ib ebay they want to pay p&p fees for special delivery
and the fact is they are right! Its a bit ridicoulous. I can see it for cash, valuables etc.
Are we on the point that RM 's only way to securely deliver small parcels is through special delivery?

Re: RECORDED PARCELS LOST
The problem for ebayers is they are very vulnerable.
Sometimes ebay purchases are very obvious either by the way the address is written or by the postage label.
As stated previously, not all posties understand the need to get signatures for Recorded Deliveries.
If the postie has delivered the packet without obtaining a signature, of course some buyers are going to deny ever recieving the packet.
They know Paypal will refund them their money, meaning they can get their purchase for free.
Anyone selling on ebay needs to understand Royal Mails compensation rules.
In my opinion,if you are selling anything with a value over £20, you should use Special Delivery.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: RECORDED PARCELS LOST
Neither should they. The special delivery option is more for your own (sellers) protection NOT the buyer. Clash is right, for anything over £30/£40+ I would insure. Recorded (or signed for) is only really useful to prove an item arrived and not in the eventuality that it did not.As for the special delivery, well you know, not a lot of ppl ib ebay they want to pay p&p fees for special delivery
Sellers need to get their heads away from 'buyers being responsible', they are only responsible to pay you, all the onus is on the seller after that. Completely.

Re: RECORDED PARCELS LOST
if its worth under £46,then send it 1st/2nd class
over, send it SD or accept you may lose out
RD isnt worth the 77p
too many postal staff dont realise the importance of it tracking and think as long as its delivered then its fine
77p over 100 packages is £77
thats £77 of your profit/lost sales because you are more expensive for postge
claim your losses fro RM for items not received claims
