Royal mail, worst delivery service ever

Post by Knockerbocker »

It seems to be common practice for royal mail staff to leave parcels on people's doorsteps. They do this on a regular basis. Recently I have had 2 parcels go astray. Royal mail claim the items were delivered. They told me to check with my neighbours. I told them to check with my neighbours I paid for a postal service that has failed. All parcels I have had delivered from private couriers, Leave a calling card stating the parcel is either at a neighbours address or collect from depot. Is it not to difficult for royal mail to follow these procedures.
Would like to hear other opinions and help on how to get my parcels or compensation for the goods, or if there is a governing body that monitors royal mail.
To be honest I think we should get rid of royal mail, and all there staff that are wingers and moan when they have to do a few extra hours. they have no pride in their work nor the fact that they bear the crown and should be an example for other courier firms to follow.

Normally I don't start on people but really...............get a life, if RM is so bad the why don't you just clear off and use the competition out there, why don't YOU stop whinging and stay in if you've ordered something.

Normally I would delete a response like this on this particular part of the forum but with the OP posting:

On an unofficial Royal Mail forum that generally is against privatisation, must accept that the response will be a bit tasty, and would be amazed if they expect any helpful guidance.

BTW - I am proud to work for Royal Mail but I wont do a few extra hours caused by mis-management especially when you have to fight to be paid for those hours. Would you knockerbocker.

However you could check Royal Mails official website to answer the questions you asked they are all there but will require digging. I would help but frankly after you slagged off my colleagues I can't be bothered.

banned - broke the rules
twice:

1. Abuse - If someone has a different position to you please respect their right to have differing views, and enjoy yourself when picking holes in their position in a constructive way. We would much rather have a long winded well thought out argument, picking out weak points in someone's position, than have a thread full of 1 line insults.

2. Shut it - Please remember everyone is welcome on this site. Customers, CWU Officers, Royal Mail Managers, all Royal Mail employees, the General Public, the press, and even MPs, so please do not resort to abuse if people of a different political persuasion or viewpoint to you, post on a thread.

----------------------------

They wonder why the got a bad service from us - poor postie is probably terrified of knocking on their door.

You should have left him on teebs.
I wanted to know the real reason he came on here gobbing off because i know it's nothing to do with a few fictitious doorstepped packets.
Far too quick to switch between reason and abuse...schoolboy error. :cuppa

My delivery is only 5 1/2 hours long but thanks for the compliment :Very Happy

TBH Teebs, the only reason my reply was like that was because all he did was come on and start ranting and slagging us off, I would have tried to help (as would most others) but that kind of attitude just gets my goat.

He's been banned............I'm sure twice by now :chuckle

Someone comes on and asks a question in a reasonable way then it is usually answered to the best of our abilities but that sort of instant attitude does wind me up, I suppose he'll be complaining to The mail/The Sun/The Telegraph about those horrible posties :nervous

Bloody hell your either a gunner in the RAF regiment or in a very ropey regiment in the Army - I guess you have not yet passed your Basic Educational Test for promotion.

Nah - should be no

Hear - here

Captials after full stop.

Comma or semi-colon after posties would make it read better.

Comma after Or.

It wont be a collection card as we are not collecting we are delivering.

Poor sentence structure, poor punctuation and abysmal grasp of common processes.

Sorry Corporal this guy needs a resit.

You're the one who started out angry, not us. I DON'T doorstep, I always leave P739s, I have even had to redeliver items several times to people who couldn't be bothered to stay in, probably similar to you who likes to moan about others.

PS. My delivery is 5 1/2 hours but add on all the indoor work and travelling time then it takes me up to 8 hours plus

PPS. Not so long ago there was a Panorama programme that shadowed a postie, the former Royal Marine PTI found that he was struggling to do the delivery, so while you're sitting around in some sanger we're out in all weathers (without decent uniform) delivering to ungrateful people like you.
