Just heard from a very good source that the union are negotiating as we speak with royal mail about the possibility of the C/S monies being paid out in 1st & 2nd class stamps as royal mail have indicated they have a surplus after the end of the tax year. A cwu spokesperson has been quoted as saying "it is an offer of sorts and we have to get what we can......as to wether it will stick or not we will have to see".

Wot another load of nonsense from RM and the Union. What Planet are they on!

Why can't they just get on with paying people, just like they paid the others who took evr or ihr before september 2010?

It's getting past a joke now. I am sure there are many staff past and present that would like to bring a group lawsuit and sue RM for their money.

Trouble is several things;
Union hasn't got enough funds to finance it
RM haven't got the money to finance the payout without making shedloads more people redundant(or sacked)
Senior management won't give back all the bonus payments they had at the end of this finacial year to cover it

yer sounds about right for the cwu ,very funny , why dont they use them to pay for the deisel for the p&l vans .

Actually , you might be suprised to know that stamps are legal tender and can not be refused as an alternative to cash.

My research shows;

Legal Tender can not be refused to settle a debt.
