Is there a limit on just how long the walk span can be? Had our revision and now doing 4.45 walks. Have told management this is way too much. His reply is we get a 20min break in between so just get on with it. CWU rep/HS rep agrees. Cant keep this up, our day is 7.48 (0700-14.48) . Reckon the long term effects are gonna be really bad, also only ended up with 1 in 6 Sats off.

If you are doing pouch deliveries the limit is 3.5 hours

If you are doing HCT delivery i think that has a 4 or 4.5hr limit.

However, if you're on a CDV delivery then there is no limit - according to the CWU and RM the delivery span is an enabler. Its in the 2010 fiasco.

Royal Mail and CWU agree that the length of the delivery span can be an enabler in bringing about mutual benefits. From now on, within the process of duty revision negotiations, spans must be looked at in the context of an enabler rather than a fixed amount of time to be aimed at.

I afraid they can, there is no longer any limit on delivery spans, instead they are an enabeler.
The agreement does stipulate that fatigue has to be taken into account, but that just seem to be weasle words to me.
You should have 1 in 4 Saturdays off though.

Motorised town duty whatever that is and it wasn't agreed, they where put in by EA (and yes we went on strike over them but got sweet FA support from the union) so that's how they stayed (and could also be the reason why our revision was thrown out because they had to cut most of the duties ).

if they find out you are taking painkillers to help you through tour duty, they MAY take action. they were going to try and ihr me when i told them i took tramadol for knee pain to get through my delivery. they said it was breeching health and safety regulations. dont tell them feck all.

well fortunately for me, im in for knee replacement in a fortnight. dont know bout DGP1 though

What a pitiful thread. An outsider would be forgiven for thinking that there was no union presence in the workplace, at all.
