Letter from Belgium - London - Lost?

Post by KarmaKoma »

Hi Posties,

This may seem a trivial question but i hope someone on here can help me out. My mum sent me a letter from Belgium which contained some photo's of great sentimental value. Of course she didn't send them recoded as she is not as sharp as she once was. They were sent out on 14-03-2011 but i have yet to receive them in East London but i am still getting other post.
Should i consider them lost? I know how bad the management at Royal Mail is and i assume morale is at an all time low at the moment but is it realistic to expect these still to turn up?
I know it seems a minor issue but my mum's heart would be broken if i had to tell her they're lost but i think i'm just putting off the evil hour. I'm hoping someone will say something like 'there's a massive backlog in East London at the mo' or 'normal letters are given a low priority compared with contract stuff and bills etc'. However if somebody in the know will tell me to give up waiting then i can break the news sooner rather than later.
Any help much appreciated and thanks to all the posties who have delivered my mail without any hassle for 30-odd years.

It might be still in the system as international post take longer to arrive. I think it should arrive by the end of week. Don't panic yet. Give it another week.

Hi Darren,

Thanks a lot for the reply, that gives me some hope. I haven't checked the forum for a few days as i had received no response so sorry for the late acknowledgement. I'll hang on for the letter another week, fingers crossed.

It's nice to see a top prem footballer takes the time to check these boards! I hope he keeps banging them in for you, one of the most underrated.

Take care.
