So we have just found out our (phantom) Colleague Shares are worth absolutely nothing. Zero. Zilch.

What did you really expect?

When has Royal Mail ever fulfilled their side of the agreement?

Royal Mail pay your wages and like it or not they can do what they want, when they want, how they want.

The CWU showed in 2007 and 2009 it has no real say or serious involvement in the way the business is run. Royal Mail simply pushed them to the sidelines with a few empty promises which of course the good old CWU bought.

So here we are in 2011 and Royal Mail now knows more than ever before how incompetent, incapable and weak the CWU really is.

Royal Mail called the shots in 2007, 2009 and they sure as hell will be calling them in 2011.

I hope the CWU gives me something to be optimistic about but I doubt they will. They have nothing. They are all but finished. Please do not ask me to strike. My days of that are well and truly over. I've done it each and every time I've been asked but enough is enough. Previous strike action got me the 'deal of the century' in 2009, so this time if I'm asked, I think I'll take my chances and come to work.

There will and already has been agreement after agreement subscribed to and subsequently broken. But these really are just bits of paper with signatures and dates. At the end of the day it's Royal Mail who pay your wage and they are entitled to run the business the way THEY see fit. Regardless of what you or me or the CWU think of the way they run the business is totally irrelevant. They can and will run it THEIR way and there's absolutely nothing you or me or the CWU can do about it.

Your not wrong there, there will get there bonus's etc.. so will the ppl at Royal mail HQ also no doubt. Not looking forward to going to work this evening.

Why should we be surprised when the colleague share was first agreed by leighton and crozier royal mail group and the government, we didnt trust them then,then leighton and crozier took their golden handshake robbing our pension funds.. :dcfo :ncfo :vcfo etc etc..The books and accounts will never be opened up fairly its all deals in the back door..As for strike over pay deal yes I would strike a proper one that brings po to its feet perhaps over easter two bank holidays or the royal wedding and may bank holiday..With so many managers going in april ,they will be unable to open all post offices , then and only then will the public see what a shitty service they are going to receive,as for us plebs well whatever we do strike and well be the reason why they must make cuts and possible more redundancies so damned if you do and damned if you dont..But to drop them all in deep do do.Its about time....Us frontline soldiers are not appreciated were told were overpaid..

Personally I thought we might get £500 max. But there's a bloke in my office who was going round the other week saying we're getting £2,000 - and he'd already spent it !!!

Just for the record and to get a clearer picture of where your coming from,how many days IA did your office take in 2009?

Let say everyone get 1000 pounds on average and there is 125,000 employee

it will cost Royal Mail £125,000,000 to pay for the shares.

Maybe they should buy us 2 euro lottery ticket for each employees and hope they win jackpot to pay for it.

the promised a lot more than that upto £5,300 i think it was. did we really think we would get anything near this..... the sad thing is it comes as no surprise to anyone.

think of the cost of coming up with this idea implemeting it, sending out the certificates and the updates.

its just a joke

The agreement is worthless we wont get a pay rise promised either

Well I disagree, I think we will be paid the 1.2% and the CWU will trumpet that as a triumph in the face of adversity..................the fact that we are owed it is neither here nor there................but I can pretty much guarantee we aren't going to get the 3.5% next year.

I don't see what relevance how many days IA my office took. Whenever I was asked to strike I did. So whether I striked for 2 days or 22 days, I done what the CWU asked of me.
