Royal Mail posts first loss in six years

Royal Mail slipped into the red for the first time in six years on its first and second- class and bulk business mail, incurring an operating loss of £12m last year after a profit of £197m in 2005-06.

A damning indictment of the incompetence of the leaders of RM and those responsible for negotiating and agreeding downstream access that ensured such a downturn in profit.

How AL and AC can have any credibility in the City is beyond me. Gordon Brown should give the f***ers another pay off to f*ck off and put a stop to competition as soon as possible. Before he is lumbered with another railtrack scenario. Leaving the taxpayer to pick up the tab whilst shareholders ride off into the sunset having fleeced us all
