Well I don't want to defend RM BUT trials were carried out and evaluated by the CWU AND endorsed by the self same AND they became a full partner in the modernisation program and are now crying that they have been conned.............I wonder if it was a case that they simply were not up to the task of negotiating such a huge program of modernisation and instead of leaping into bed with RM quite so readily they had stood back and carried out longer term trials. Instead of which, despite the problems encountered across the nation actually was rushing forward ever faster - it truly beggars belief.

And just to add to my earlier statement, while everyone knows that the 2010 agreement was a financial melt down to royal mail,,seeing over the last 4 years mail volumes declined on a sizable scale,, reducing profits,, only a madman would try to introduce such a disasterous business plan like the 2010 agreement.... senior managers are either stupid, monkeys or just plan idiots to put it politely...

I think the union could ride the storm with a years (or 2) delay in CS payments.
To be honest gb.i really don't believe either option would be acceptable to the "lump sum brigade", a group of people,it has to be said that has been encouraged to grow by the union over the last few years.
Just how big a percentage of the membership that is...i wouldn't like to say but unfortunately i don't think it's a minority.
I'm not so sure the union could ride out that storm...just an opinion.
If they said the value of company will be a lot higher in years time so you will get more :cuppa
That would quite "them" down. You know most would sell their soul for a promise of a lumper.
It is a proven formula, no need to change. Jobs done they get want they want.

:hmmmm That could pose a bit of a problem - I forget the exact wording but it amounted to a joint statement by RM and the CWU whereby they would brook no delays to the progress of modernisation and presumably considering the agreement doesn't lapse until next year then that statement holds the field.
Still looking on the bright side we do have Brendan Barber and Roger Poole on the sidelines

if this is all true and the bussiness is in that state, our union should be the first to get to the press and let them know wtf is going on in this company.yesterday two managers come somehow by accident to cover the same duty, waste of money.notice goes on the board for more deputy managers(as if we havent got enough) waste of money.money being thrown away through world class mail, and we have managers supervising between 4 to 10 people.how many have left the bussiness in the last few years, yet we still have the same level of management.and now there saying the bussiness is f****d,,total disgrace.

Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather.
i do know who bill hicks was just proving a point , you can put anything on website ( COLL . SHARES ) and waste 18 pages no one will know until we are told on tues and that might not be true ps no money no pay offs
