just reading some of the posts regarding the agreement ,colleage shares and the future of the company . you didn t need to reach the agreement £ 20 for d2d was enough ,the future is bleak we just have to accept it the union is finito no power left and a strike is out of the question dont think they would get it through anyway . the majority of posties are just as pissed with the union as they are with the management THE END ROYAL MAIL . ps does anyone know who bill hicks was never heard of him !

I agree that the Company with its assets cannot have no worth therefore I have no issue with believing your figure, (this isn't the first post suggesting around £530 per year as a value).

I don't think that a zero figure is going to be announced but I'm more inclined to believe that cash flow problems will make it impossible for those employees wishing to cash-in this year to receive that cash. I therefore expect an announcement to either make us all wait another year, in the hope of cash flow improvement or as has been suggested a share instalment paid weekly over a set period.

In any cases, I really don't think it's healthy for you all to waste your free time worrying about issues which will be answered in just a few days.

To be honest gb.i really don't believe either option would be acceptable to the "lump sum brigade", a group of people,it has to be said that has been encouraged to grow by the union over the last few years.
Just how big a percentage of the membership that is...i wouldn't like to say but unfortunately i don't think it's a minority.
I'm not so sure the union could ride out that storm...just an opinion.

Colleague share is valued twice per year in April and September. Those who had VR prior to September last year and even if they had to work their full notice period will have recieved the colleague share as of the september value.

Royal Mail intially stopped paying colleague share to those who left the business but the union with the help of legal assistance got this restated. However again based on the september valuation.

On Tuesday you will hear exactly what has happened with colleague share but lets just say the valuation had nose dived. You will also hear that the business is in meltdown and is in trouble. Now of course some of this may suit them to quicken up the government bill but it will hardly make Royal Mail an attractive propostion to be aquire.

There are other issues which will also have a bearing , the fact that Royal Mail do not believe they have the money to pay next years pension defecit , they will also say that they are paying more out than they are recieving in cost reductions as a result of the BTA agreement and that it will take 5 years to deploy rather than 3 years. In addition they will say that they will change to CPI the pensions for those employed prior to 1988 who will for all intents and purposes be paying for their defecit themselves.

Oh and some other issues. Will be an intresting week.

To be honest I'm not surprised RM are skint the way they have been blowing money. WSM that don't work or dont accept as much work as they should....new vans.....new equipment.........new uniforms.......failed revisions with s**t loads of cash being thrown at them to make sure they work(for a few weeks). We all knew the CS were a con and they arn't very quick paying out on revision bonuses from what I can gather.

Dingo, thanks for the update but alittle more would be helpfull.
What date are we getting paid the CS even if it's only £20, but if you were to say that there is no pay date then this would answer a few questions without you giving the actual facts, if you know what i mean

The first thing the members will do on Tuesday is look to their reps for answers.
It would help if HQ could throw us a bone before tuesday and give the reps a fighting chance rather than leaving us looking like idiots...again.

DINGO,,,, royal mail are in melt down, well senior mamagers only have themselfs to blame and it's always the postie who suffers... before the changes, posties were using thier cars, so that was no cost to royal mail, and also offices where flexing. NOW posties using vans, so royal mail had the expense of this, tax,buying it, insurance, fuel.. trolleys that break easily, making walks way too big, so posties working well over thier time to complete claiming overtime.. it's not rocket science.. it's going to cost a lot of money to sustain this more so than posties using thier own cars previously... so onto the point of colleague shares.. before this 2010 agreement royal mail had the money to pay out the value of these shares, but senior managers have deliberately run the royal mail into melt down... so i guess tuesday,, posties will be told the bad news that you so talk about but will not say what !! royal mail has been put into this position by those at the top.. over the years ive seen so many cock ups, by mamagement i don't know were to start.. consigna, horizon computer program just to name a couple, wasted money,,, Before starting any idea, a fact finding operation is carried out first to see if its feasible to impliment, and do the benefits out weigh the costs, it's simple,,,,,,,,,,,,, if the cost out weigh the benefits,,, IT'S NOT IMPLIMENTED,,, simples.... obviously management are not even capable of that... royal mail only have themselfs to blame for its current situation... and it's the posties who will suffer as a result..

Just watch your pension de-value, all for the sake of saving a business that has a failed business plan.

Those working at the front end knew there were problems throughout the agreement, it has taken a year for others to see.

tear up the agreement, put a halt to all the "interpretations" of the agreement, and get back to the basics, We deliver mail as a SERVICE, not a BUSINESS.

Save the cost a few cruise missiles and the pension deficit would soon be blown away

TBH I don't give a monkeys what the colleague share value is, unless it's in the 1000s, and in truth I'd forgotten all about it until this thread was raised.

Dingo has raised a whole tale of woes that RM are bringing to the table but I'm sure that the CWU membership would like to hear:

a. What the CWU are saying AND
b. What they intend to do about it........if anything

If it is true that those who left on VR received £1400 and we are about to hear by how much it has nosedived in 6 months.........I think we are owed a detailed explanation as to why. Surely with this new trust and inclusion the CWU should have been kept informed at all stages - I mean it is a bit 11th hour considering we should be paid in April so why are we not getting the September valuation.

There can't be a lot of trust left if dingo thinks we've all been conned...................which of course is a total surprise
