Staff voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.

Postal workers will strike on the Isle of Man.

It's been revealed this lunchtime that the staff voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.

The ballot papers were sent out to over 250 post office workers in February after communications broke down between the Post Office and the workers union.

It's all stemmed from a Public Sector pay freeze, which stopped any pay rise for the postmen and women, despite being promised their share of rewards if the company had a successful year.

Assistant Secretary of the Communication Workers Union Terry Pullinger said he can't understand why it has come to this. (audio above)

The Isle of Man Post Office have not commented yet.

It's known yet known when the strike action will happen.
