collegue shares rumors gathering momentum

Post by bolton1969 »

theres been a lot of talk about if we are going to receive the collegue shares.our driver who collects the missort run from manchester mail centre has been saying that all week the staff down there were complaining that we are not going to get anything.he then spoke to one of the union reps there who confirmed that something is in the pipeline,as royalmail cant afford to pay all the staff there share money.they only have 2 weeks working capital to call upon.our drivers a decent lad so theres no reason for him to lie.

so it begs the question, can they not pay us whats written down in black and white, and if they dont what happens to that money??will it delayed till next year or written off altogether.the impression i get is the union will let them off the hook because of the cashflow problem.

i cant seeing us getting the 3.7% payrise in 2012 either as thats only if the buisness can afford it.

all the scenarios that the members put to the union seems to be coming true.
less pay
more workload
dubious share bonuses
excuses for not paying £1000 bonus after revisions have gone in.
more stress
2012 pay rise not written in stone.the list goes on

I'm sure there's a get out clause in there for RM.

The 'get out clause' is quite simply the valuation.

If they are valued at sweet FA, then sweet FA is all we will get for them.

the share issue looks like its about to blow and also the agreed wage increases over the
next few years are not looking good.then we have revisions going to plan in some areas
but the majority of areas dont know what the hell is going on,times of attendance are changing
in some offices yet others dont know nothing about it.planning teams have no idea what there doing.
the work of mail turns up at anytime in the day, staff contracts are in a shambles.
with loads more problems every day.

so maybe an idea for royal mail headquaters and union headquaters to have a nice little meeting
and get there act together.

staff and managers and union reps in all functions of royal mail have just about had enough.

Some of us prefer to lie on our front when we get shafted...... :whistle

dingo wrote:The shares are being revalued by an independent body , the company is not in a great postion , it is losing revenue faster than it can introduce change. Add that to the pension defcit , the fact that the BTA agreement is going back to 2015/16 rather than 2013 also is hampering their ability.

Who knows wether they will be a colleague share payment or what amount will be paid. The CWU have raised this with the business and we will have to all wait to find out wether there will be a payment.
Does that mean no MC or RDC closures before 2015 then ??? :pray

noggin1969 wrote:There's always a get out clause because none of the agreements are legally binding contracts they are "agreements". RM if it so wished could after a notice period put everybody down to legal minimum pay and minimum holiday entitlement : £5.93 - the main rate for workers aged 21 and over and 28 days for someone working five days a week , bank and public holidays can be included in your minimum entitlement. As this would be their only legal obligations
If this was to happen lots of postman would leave, plus i'm pretty sure they can't do this. But do expect this to happen when it gets privatised.

I can't see them not paying out. People who have left on evr and Ill health have received theirs so why reward the leavers and not the actual workforce? Wouldn't be right. Fingers crossed anyway!

So in a round about way confirming a hint from Dingo that we may not get them. :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I am not going to even count it until we get it and then only a month later when they have had a chance to take it back if they want. It will be nice to have but with RMs track record don't spend it till you have it, and don't bank on it.

We should hear something very soon from national level, so we will know how much the shares are worth.
and when we can sell them
