Introduce yourself

Post by Marjinbuu »

Hello
I'm Patrick have been working as a postman for 2 months on a 30 hour 6 month contract .
The walk I have been doing has gone up for signing and have been told by my union rep that it's between me and Another guy although we both started at The same time I have seniority over him alphabetically . Is this true ?
Also if I sign for and get the walk what are the chances of me getting taken on a permanent contract not a rolling 6 month ?

Welcome to RMC Marjinbuu. :wave
The answer to your first question is....No.
When two people start on the same day the seniority "tie-breaker" works on this basis and in this order.

1. Previous service in Royal Mail Group.
2. Date of selection.
3. Date of Birth.
The alphabet has sod all to do with it.

The answer to your second question at the moment is anybody's guess...sorry.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
