My Branch Manager tells me that in early January I made the acquaintance of a ‘Mystery Shopper’, who apparently has declared me ‘100% Human’.
I cannot tell you what a relief this is, given that I have long suspected my mother of having a ‘liaison’, at around the time of the launch of Sputnik 1, with Mr Spock on a Church Friends daytrip to the planet Vulcan. To be honest, this news would have been welcome earlier, since I have recently had a spell in hospital, worrying that at any moment a nurse would arrive to tell me the blood in the bottom half of my body was green.
It’s marvellous what information these Mystery Shoppers can provide these days…

All part of the service-rwbarker, who cares anyway the BM gets a bonus for the mystery shopper and not the counter clerk that serves them sounds about right for the post-office give everyone in the RMG a pay rise and the BM a bonus for doing nothing.

The very essence of "being human" means that we are all imperfect and make mistakes.rwbarker wrote:All part of the service......
Why is it though, that when a mystery shopper fails someone for not saying "thank you for waiting" their word is taken over the word of the clerk when they are called into the office for the inevitable "why didn't you say it?" etc etc.
Does the word of the mystery shopper now have more credance than the word of the clerk? Who is made to feel like they are on trial.
Don't bother telling me you did say it you lazy, overpaid, underworked wretch, this scrap if paper I have before me says you didn't!!!
Mystery shoppers are human, are they not?
Could it be possible that they also make mistakes?
If they truly DON'T EVER make mistakes, then they are wasted as mere mystery shoppers. We could do with these people on the executive board...
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

Re: Mystery Shopper
Nobody has asked what drove me to such awful suspicions about my mother? Well Jim, I have ears that taper to a point, and can often be heard, particularly when at work, muttering ‘this is not logical’…
