Newbie postie

Post by juneau »

A quick greeting to all,
recently joined RM as PT postie, still finding my feet... although the two on the end of my legs are making their presents known. Just a few weeks in and already over a stone down, mind you I was a fat git before i started,so should be a full on racing snake by the end of the summer.

Two questions to start with, if i may:
firstly; having attended a couple of "briefings" I like to know if there is a dictionary/ foreign language course in postie speak, I spent 30 mins in a room full of people talking in an alien tongue- I know all trades have abbreviations and short hand but Jesus Christ this was impenetrable.

Second question.. and this one is a bit cheeky so I'll apologize in advance, does anybody know if the Post Office offer group employees a discount on home broadband accounts?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
